Course Overview

The HubStudio is very proud to have Casting Director from i4 Casting, Daisy Hicks back at the HubStudio. This is an exclusive opportunity to work with Daisy over a 4 week intensive casting workshop. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of the most approachable and warmest Casting Directors in the business. 
Each class will be run like a real casting only Daisy will be there to give you an inside view of how it works. She will guide, nurture and give you feedback. She will explore preparation practices and techniques as well as some important do’s and do not’s before, during and after a casting session.

Course Outline

During the day Daisy will focus on:

  • Filming scenes, taking direction and playback
  • Exploring different preparation techniques for casting
  • Staying present in the room
  • Improvisation within a scene

Course Outcomes

In this one day course, you will learn:

  • A simple process to feel more grounded and clear
  • How to get out of your head and into your body
  • How to connect with your scene partner
  • How to better prepare for a casting
  • How to feel empowered before and after a casting session

How To Pay & Instalment Option: The easiest way to pay is by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) using the bank details on the invoice (please quote the invoice number in the transfer information), or by simply clicking the ‘pay online’ link also on the invoice (bank fees apply). You will be email an invoice upon acceptance into the program. Payment is due no later than the due date stated on the invoice, however if you would like to pay in instalments please call or email the office to arrange the dates and amounts you will pay. Please note full payment of the course is due by the time the course finishes. You can start payment instalments at anytime upon receipt of the invoice.

About Daisy Hicks

A proud member of the Casting Guild of Australia and the youngest member to have received multiple Casting Guild Award nominations for her work, Daisy’s credits as a Casting Director span across Film, TV, Theatre & Musical Theatre. Selected credits include: She Loves Me (Hayes Theatre Co.), The Australian premiere of The Wolves (Belvoir Theatre & Red Line Productions), News To Me & Break the Future (ABC), Good Omens (Squabbalogic), The Funny Ones (ABC/Unko), Dreamweaver (Conti Bros. WHEN APPLYING FOR ANY COURSE Please make 100% sure you are available for the course BEFORE agreeing to these terms and conditions. Once you have agreed by ticking the box in the courses submission form and / or in writing YOU ARE FULLY LIABLE TO PAY FOR THE COURSE IN FULL REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY CLASSES ARE ATTENDED. If you are not accepted onto the course, you will not be held be liable to pay. Confirmation of acceptance onto a course will be emailed to you directly with an invoice. Upon receipt of the invoice you will agree to pay the full amount, and by no later than the due date stated on the invoice. Please note that prior to payment we cannot guarantee your place on any course. CANCELLATIONS MADE BY YOU. If for whatever reason you wish to cancel your place on a course, you must notify us via email prior to seven (7) business days before the first class. Often at this stage it can be difficult to find a suitable replacement, however we’ll do our best to facilitate the changes, if at all possible. If a refund is approved it will incur an administration charge of $75. Any cancellations requested after the seven (7) days cut off are non-refundable, however may be transferred as a credit, at the discretion of the The HubStudio, and are not guaranteed. IF WE MAKE CANCELLATIONS. Rarely we have to move or cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances such as teachers sickness or unavailability. In these circumstance we will do our best to find a new time to accomodate everyone. We do not offer refunds for single class movements. If a whole class series is moved you will be entitled to a credit note for the next series or a full refund if you can’t attend the new dates.
