Course Overview

As founder and company Director of The HubStudio I fundamentally believe the single biggest issue facing professional working actors is that general business acumen is too low. Now this might not be true for everyone, however the question still remains: what is a show without the business? Our drama schools are only just beginning to tackle the subject and even then it’s tokenistic.

A fundamental understanding of modern business and the ability to convert aspiration into activation are key skills, for anyone who wants to succeed; and nowhere is this energy more evident than in actors. Our passion guides us, and our inability to convert it into action can destroy us. 

Entrepreneurial tools give the power back to actors and allow us to raise the middle finger and find success on our own terms.

Course Outline

The course is broken down into a few main areas of discovery. In a round table we will discuss; 

  • Individual Introductions / What is your ‘why’
  • Thats not a knife. The Australian industry, and where its headed.
  • Authenticity & finding your mojo – mindset & skill set
  • Its all about me – process not perfection
  • What’s my project / what’s my plan? – making a commitment 
  • You tell me – group work; mentoring, action plan & goal setting

Course Outcomes

This series will give you the tools to create active thinking and planning, raising awareness of blocks, opportunities and systems for attainment of goals. 

  • A clear career / project plan with KPI objectives. 
  • Understand the 30 keys to failure (and thereby success)
  • A mentoring partner for future accountability and information.
  • Greater awareness and understanding of the business side of acting
  • Inspired view point on career and life goals.

How To Pay & Instalment Option: The easiest way to pay is by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) using the bank details on the invoice (please quote the invoice number in the transfer information), or by simply clicking the ‘pay online’ link also on the invoice (bank fees apply). You will be email an invoice upon acceptance into the program. Payment is due no later than the due date stated on the invoice, however if you would like to pay in instalments please call or email the office to arrange the dates and amounts you will pay. Please note full payment of the course is due by the time the course finishes. You can start payment instalments at anytime upon receipt of the invoice.

About Oliver Wenn

Oliver is a 2005 NIDA Acting Graduate, he is both an actor and producer having worked on various shows over the years including the stage musical of The Sapphires. Oliver has a range of experience running various enterprises, from production to development of new work as well as his day to day commitments as creator and Director of The HubStudio.

    TERMS & CONDITIONS: Please make 100% sure you are available for the course BEFORE agreeing to these terms and conditions. Once you have agreed by ticking the above box YOU ARE FULLY LIABLE TO PAY FOR THE COURSE IN FULL REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY CLASSES ARE ATTENDED. If you are not accepted onto the course, you will not held be liable to pay. Confirmation of acceptance onto a course will be emailed to you directly with an invoice. Upon receipt of the invoice you hereby agree to pay the full amount and by no later than the due date stated on the invoice. If you have opted for the direct debit payment system, you agree to return the emailed Direct Debit Request (DDR) Form within two days of receipt with the correct banking information and agree to have the appropriate funds available at all times, as per the payment schedule. If for some reason the DDR Form isn't filled out, at any stage before or after a course, you will still be required to pay the course amount in full. If for any reason you have not received the DDR Form, it is your responsibility to pay for the course and notify the studio. Please note that prior to payment we cannot guarantee your place on any course. CANCELLATIONS MADE BY YOU: If for whatever reason you wish to cancel your place on a course, you must notify us via email within five (5) business days before the start of the first class. A REFUND WILL BE ISSUED ONLY IF YOUR PLACE CAN BE FILLED. Often at this stage it can be difficult to find a suitable replacement, however we’ll do our best to facilitate the changes, if at all possible. If a refund is approved it will incur an administration charge of $75. Any cancellations requested after the five (5) days cut off are non-refundable however may be transferred as a credit, at the discretion of the The HubStudio, and are not guaranteed. IF WE MAKE CANCELLATIONS: Rarely we have to move a class due to unforeseen circumstances such as teachers sickness or unavailability. In these circumstance we will do our best to find a new time to accomodate everyone. We do not offer refunds for single class movements. If a whole class series is moved you will be entitled to a credit note for the next series or a full refund if you can’t attend the new dates.
