Screen Test Workshop
Develop a compelling screen test / showreel in six weeks.
This four week series then is a rotating workshop where each week the 12 actors will run a chosen scene in a casting environment so you can be craft ready to nail that next audition. It can either be a scene (or advert brief) you are about to audition for, one we choose, or one you would like to work further on. It’s up to you..
“With the philosophy that acting is primarily listening and responding, through this series you will develop skills in how to relax and free yourself of self-consciousness in front of the camera; how to communicate with truth, power and vulnerability. We will also focus on scene analysis and how to perform an intention with simplicity, working off a scene partner moment to moment.” – Michael Booth

“I’ve had the honour of working alongside Michael for the better part of the last year as a fellow actor, producer, and now as his student. Michael, has mastered the ability to make an actor feel safe, and still encouraged to take bold steps and make strong choices. He makes the craft seem so simple, bringing his vast knowledge and experience to his teaching. And as for applying it to screen-testing, he helps you to bring out the real, natural characters instead of abandoning yourself and your own humanity.“
“Michael Booth presented intriguing and engaging challenges that I had not experienced before. Learning from an actor who has worked in the industry gave me an unique insight into what it takes to stand out in an audition. He drew on different methods to help me get the best out of a scene, and his approachable nature made me feel confident and comfortable enough to make bold choices and not be afraid to make mistakes.”
The course outline is very simple. Each week actors will present scenes to camera, in an audition scenarios. Michael will direct and give feedback, involving the group. At the end of the sessions you will have four fantastic scenes for use on a screen test reel.
