Course Overview
Is your audition or performance ever let down by a rushing mind or a need to prove “I’m good enough to be here”? This special six-week course will equip you with tools to become grounded in the scene; to be naturally captivated by your character’s circumstances and relationships, stop over-thinking and succumbing to self doubt. Grace offers honest, detailed feedback while simultaneously inviting you to sit with your gifts, enjoy your own interpretation and bring fun and lightness back into acting. Every actor will workshop and film a scene each week and take home the footage for personal reflection or industry use.
Course Outline
This 6 week course will provide:
- Techniques to become grounded in the scene before ‘action”.
- Techniques to work with nerves and self doubt.
- Tools to create genuine connection to other characters in the scene.
- Imagery – grounding yourself in the 5 senses of scene.
- Techniques to get specific about your own interpretation of a scene (specificity brings freedom and confidence to play).
Course Outcomes
Through this course, you’ll find freedom to:
- Play rather than striving to “get it right.”
- Honestly listen and be truthfully changed by the other actor.
- Experience more genuine connections with other characters in the scene.
- Become more curious about (and enjoy!) your own interpretation of a character and scene.
- Let go of control over the scene.
- Make more exciting choices and “raise the stakes” in the scene.

Participants: 14 Maximum on each workshop
Price: Members $320.00 incl GST (10% off for members)

How To Pay & Instalment Option: The easiest way to pay is by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) using the bank details on the invoice (please quote the invoice number in the transfer information), or by simply clicking the ‘pay online’ link also on the invoice (bank fees apply). You will be email an invoice upon acceptance into the program. Payment is due no later than the due date stated on the invoice, however if you would like to pay in instalments please call or email the office to arrange the dates and amounts you will pay. Please note full payment of the course is due by the time the course finishes. You can start payment instalments at anytime upon receipt of the invoice.
Session Details
About Grace Naoum
Grace graduated from the full-time course at Actors Centre Australia in 2013. Grace has been cast in the role of Daniela Kelhmann in Amazon Prime’s comedy series, Deadloch (2023). She also plays the role of Cora in the U.S. film, NOMAD, (2024 release), and plays Informant 1 in Total Control Series 3, (2024 release). Grace has worked as part of the Educational Theatre Company, Poetry In Action, touring Australia for 8 months. Theatre credits include Molly Sweeney in Clock and Spiel’s Production of Molly Sweeney, Hermione (lead) in Secret House’s production of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, Ajax in Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida, Malcolm in SheShakespeare’s production of Macbeth and the lead role of Tiffany in Factory Theatre’s Production of Almost Nearly Paradise by Brenda Gottsche. In the past 4 years Grace has been cast in several commercials such as Google, YOUI, James Hardie, Aussie Home Loans, Smiths Chips, Daikin, Fiji Tourism, British Paints, RSPCA, Milrun, Berocca and more. Grace has worked on a variety of short films such as Enneagrams vs COVID-19 (actor, co-writer, producer), and written and performed poetry for charity organisations, International Justice Mission and TEAR Australia.
