Improvisation Masterclass w/ Edan Lacey
An 8 week Improvisation course for professional working actors.
We are thrilled to have accomplished actor Edan Lacey to the Hub for a special improv series. Edan has a huge amount of experience in improvisation, not only as an actor, but also as a founding member of Improv Theatre Sydney (ITS). This eight-week course will be improvisation for actors, not solely theatre sports. Improvisation for actors is all about creating the tools for listening, responding yielding and accepting ‘offers’ made by other actors in a scene. Edan’s series will introduce each actor to the fundamentals of great improvisation technique and how it relates to scripted acting work. This series is a seriously fun, engaging workshop that will give each participant significant skills to add to their repertoire for the development and execution of character, for both stage and film.
Over the eight weeks each participant will work on various areas of improvisational technique in the following areas:
- Imaginary Circumstances.
- Accepting / Yielding.
- Character development.
- Impulse work.
- Use of physical space to inform character & story.
Development & practice of craft lie at the core of the Masterclass:
- An ability to take offers, accept and yield to stimulus.
- Increased ability to react from impulse with character.
- Greater awareness of working in a group.
- Focus on character development techniques.
- Create dynamic and engaging offer to other actors.
