Body Language for Screen by Roel Voorbij
Four week physical acting for camera workshop.
We’re thrilled to have international coach Roel Voorbij and his very unique physical acting for camera workshop at The HubStudio. The greatest actors not only use a strong verbal technique on screen, but also very detailed physical work that adds layers of meaning to a performance, and allows them to truly embody a character and physically highlight the subtext of the script. The very best actors know that the key to a detailed performance is through a personal physical access point, a transformation.
“Before we know it, we’re showing all kinds of non-verbal signs, that tell a completely different story!’ Roel Voorbij
This very special four week introductory course will use filmed scenes and live camera work to cover all aspects of physical acting for camera, including presence, nerves, secondary actions, use of props and sets and how to layer a scene with symbolic action plays.
Some topics include:
- Dealing with yourself under stress
- Neutral starting point; how to be centered and relaxed on camera
- How to express yourself using props and object to underscore text and story
- Physical relationship to camera
- Symbolic action playing
- Non-Verbal Communication
If you have more questions or queries, please feel free to email Roel at the following address: voorbijroel@gmail.com
