Biography

Ben graduated from The National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney in 1997 and furthered his training at the Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris. In 2013 he completed a graduate diploma in Film and Television at Curtin University.

His theatrical work includes shows with the Sydney Theatre Company, Company B Belvoir, Bell Shakespeare Company, the Ensemble Theatre, Black Swan Theatre Company, Griffin Theatre Company, The Darlinghurst Theatre, The Blue Room Theatre, Perth International Arts Festival, and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre.

His screen credits include the feature films ‘Dingo’, ‘Lantana’, ‘Drift’, ‘Foreshadow’, ‘Pinch’,Zelos’ (for which he won the Best Actor award at the Southern States Indie Fan Film Fest 2017), ‘The Decadent and the Depraved’, and ‘The Gateway’.

On television he has appeared in ‘A Place to Call Home’, ‘Cloudstreet’, ‘McLeod’s Daughter’s, and ‘Home & Away’.

Ben has also written and produced a feature documentary entitled ‘Aceh: beyond the tsunami’, which is currently screening internationally and won the ‘Best Documentary’ award in its category at the Dhaka International Film Festival.
